Fine artist Lelia DeMello is a self taught-artist. Her professional artistic career began in 1987 in the islands of Hawaii. Since that time, over 800 original paintings have been acquired by collectors from all over the world.

She is known as a colorist and enjoys creating oversized paintings. "Large pieces have impact and power," as stated by Kevin Nunn, owner of Montage Galleries.

Her work is pragmatic, yet she strives to balance semblance with sensation. She primarily works in water colors, though she enjoys a variety of media. Although her art work is diverse in style and subject matter, her instinct for color and balance weaves a common thread in all her creations.

Lelia has had 11 solo, sell out shows and has participated in many group and museum exhibitions. She also enjoys teaching art to young children- "It encourages expression and confidence."

Her work has been commissioned by several of Hawaiis most exclusive resorts; Hanalie Bay Resort, The Puhio, Princeville Resorts, Kiahuna Plantation & Resort, & Paramount Pictures, celebrities, politicians, & CEO's.

Over 14,400, 3/8” glazed porcelain and iridized opal tiles were used to create this one of a kind piece in the ‘Opus Regulatim’ style direct set method on ¾“ birch. Inspired by the famous Tamara de Lempicka art deco period. Deco Diva glimmers and dazzles. She’s grouted with gold metallic and white grout. The image size measures 49” X 51” for an impressive modern day mosaic. The alder wood custom built frame is embellished with black glass bizazza tiles and also grouted with metallic gold to extend the glimmer and glamour of the art piece. The frame is also designed for easy hanging and to accommodate the 75Lb. Weight of this large piece. This fine art mosaic has a gallery retail of over $18,000.00. Asking $13,300.00.
